Rack Safety Awareness Course
Brysdales Rack Safety Awareness Training days are a chance to learn from our 50+ years of experience in the design, supply, installation and inspection of racking systems. This one day course is Assured by RoSPA Qualifications.
We offer a choice of two courses: ‘General Pallet Racking’ or ‘Pallet Racking & Cantilever’.
The course will enable participants to:
- Understand health and safety requirements regarding storage equipment
- Recognise what makes a safely managed racking installation
- Confidently assess identify and classify damage to racking components
- Correctly report damage and instigate remedial action where necessary
- Gain a wider knowledge of health and safety within the workplace

Upcoming Courses
RoSPA Assured Rack Safety Awareness Course
- Duration: One day
- Time: 9:00 AM arrival for a 9:30 AM start, concluding at 4:00 PM.
- Location: Brysdales Ltd, Britannia Buildings, Chorley, PR6 7BX.
- Fee: £250.00 + VAT per delegate.
- Inclusions: Refreshments and lunch are provided. Please notify us of any dietary requirements or allergies.
- Certification of attendance provided
- Example tick sheet to takeaway for internal inspections
- ID – Can you please ensure you bring a form of photographic identification e.g. Passport or driving license etc. for registration purposes.
- Each delegate must provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the day, this includes safety footwear and high visibility jacket
Rack Safety Compliance Course (Duty Holder)
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), businesses have a legal duty to ensure the safety of their warehouse racking systems. This responsibility falls on the “duty holder” – the person or organisation accountable for the safe installation, maintenance, and regular inspection of the racking.
At Brysdales, we take this duty holder role seriously. Our team of experts works closely with clients to identify the appropriate duty holder and provide comprehensive support and training to fulfil their legal obligations.
The course will enable participants to:
- Understand the role of Rack Safety Compliance
- Identify and apply the relevant laws and regulations governing storage equipment
- Identify and control risks regarding storage equipment
- Understand training requirements for a Person Responsible for Rack Safety (PRRS)
- Implement a structured inspection and maintenance regime
- Review and understand inspection reports
